Any suggestions of good policies/companies and ballpark of rates in MD?

| I pay $450 in Mont. Cty through Erie Insurance. Not sure why it's so expensive... I only have a part time (16 hours) nanny. I think I'll check around for other policies. |

| We're paying $460 in MoCo also through Erie for our nanny working 24 hrs/week although I believe the rate is about the same for FT. |

| DC: State Farm. Many other carriers will not write it in DC. You may have to have another policy with them for SF to write it. I am not sure. My DH insures his motorcycle with SF and they do the workers comp, but we have most of our coverages with another carrier. |

| I'm the first Erie PP, and my understanding is the policy is per worker, regardless of the number of hours worked (like next poster said). Also I did get a quote from IWIF (insurer of last resort) and it was around $700! |
