iso: USED Prius buying advice

Greetings! I'm seeking to purchase a used Prius under $4700. Are there any other resources besides Craigslist and Cars.com, I've been looking for a few weeks and everything seems to be going too quick for me to grab it up!

I've also looked at market place but am a bit wary of scams.

I have a Prius. It has 225,000 miles. I would sell it to you, but 300k is my goal. If you can find a Prius, I can’t recommend the car enough. It’s not sexy, but it is the best car I’ve ever had. Barely any maintenance issues. Just change the oil every 7k miles and it will run forever.

I got my used Prius through our neighborhood listserv. Somebody knew somebody who bought a new car and the "old" car are mostly just sitting around.

We did this a few years back and regretted it. We bought a 2nd gen 2006 model with 195K miles on it and had hopes of running it for another 100K miles at least. I think we paid around $5,500 for it. Less than 2 years of owning it and there were significant engine related issues. Had it plugged into a diagnostic machine at Toyota for a couple of hours one day and it was throwing so many error codes they told me it could take another day or so hooked up before they could diagnose the issue. Given that the most likely issue was that the engine was done we decided to trade it in. Carnac gave me $1K for it and given that it barely ran at that point, I bit their hand off.
