I am a centrist and feel politically lost. I'm worn out with all the rhetoric that is too far left or too far right. I don't know much about these candidates.
Help me decide - which candidate do you think is more centrist? |

| Anyone voting in this election today? |
|
I voted for Seibold.
Baroudi opposes abortion after 15 weeks, per her website. I don't consider that a centrist position but then I don't know what you mean by centrist. |
|
Seibold. Based on what I have read in interviews, she seems to actually understand what the General Assembly does and what she would be able to work on.
I read an interview w/Baroudi the other day, and she was talking a lot about FCPS and things going on in the schools, as well as local crime. Those are very local issues that the GA doesn't have jurisdiction over. There are local elections for both the School Board and Board of Supervisors this year, it seems that Baroudi might be well suited for one of those positions instead? |
|
Also, there is nothing in Baroudi's page other than she was a mom. Has she done anything in politics before?
Also, it's silly to say you don't intend to criminalize women if they get an abortion past 15 weeks if you are planning on making it illegal. I understand it's not something you want to talk about, but making something illegal means doing something becomes criminal. |
| Also I assume by her not listing the middle and high schools that she left public sometime during elementary school with her kids? |
In fact, in her interview, she says that she left public schools during covid but she has a child in college and has not listed one middle or high school in FCPS that her children attended. So she left public well before covid. She's also has held no government position even a small local one on a committee. I don't really understand why she is running. No one else wanted this position? |
She wants power |
Seb Gorka's wife gave her $1000 out of $36k for her campaign, if that tells you anything. Hard pass. https://www.vpap.org/candidates/447959/top_donors/?contrib_type=A&start_year=all&end_year=all |
| Election is over at this point, but as someone who lives in Vienna, I never heard of Monique before Monday… whereas Holly has been an active community member for quite a number of years. It was an easy decision to vote for Holly. Hoping she wins and will be able to represent the people of this district down in Richmond. |
| Happy Holly beat Baroudi but even happier she beat the incompetent stooge Karl Frisch in the primary. |
