Woodland animal theme store bought cake?

Anonymous
Have you found a woodland animals (rabbits, bunnies, etc) theme cake somewhere locally? My daughter is having her birthday party at a nature center and wants the cake to be animal-themed but I’m having trouble finding it, at least on the websites of the local grocery stores. Has anyone found one?

You can buy a kit on Etsy and provide it to the store or get a plain iced cake and put the pieces yourself.

I like fondant and did this for my nephew. https://www.etsy.com/listing/538008856/fondant-woodland-cake-toppers-fondant

But there are also paper toppers.

I don’t understand how to do this. I get a green iced cake from the grocery store and then just arrange these on top? I don’t think I’m artistic enough to make that cute. That will look like a green iced cake with these things stuck on top! Ha ha

What about something like this:

Buy the toppers you want on Amazon then buy a Cake from
Costco and have them write Happy Birthday Larla across the bottom or top. I’ve done this twice. Kids don’t care. If you want if professionally done you’ll need a professional baker not a grocery store.

Then provide it to the store and they will arrange it artistically.

I agree. Any store would arrange it for you but you can always ask in advance. Even Baskin Robbins will do it if you buy a 'Create Your Own' ice cream cake from them.

I think it’s wonderful that you’re trying to make your daughter’s birthday party special. My experience, however, is that this level of detail doesn’t make much difference. The kids may think it’s cool if the cake fits the general theme (not a requisite), but they’re primarily concerned with the sugar. Similarly, parents will be less concerned with the cake artistry, and more on the sugar buzz their kid will have afterwards.

I think the cake topper idea above (however arranged) is excellent.

An alternative (assuming the kids are old enough not to worry about choking), is to buy some gummy bears and sprinkle them over the top of the cake.

When my daughter had a nature-themed birthday party at a nature center a few years ago, we got a cake at Giant that had a Field and Stream theme. It had a deer and a river and was very delicious and cute. But, PSA, remove the plastic hunter with a gun figurine that comes with the cake so you don’t traumatize the children.

Giant used to have a large variety of cakes. I think now you have to go to the store to order in person. For some reason they no longer have the online ordering for custom cakes, but I am pretty sure I saw it advertised in the store.

Amphora Bakery can make all your birthday cake dreams come true! These are the top quality decorators who could compete on TV. They are THAT fantastic.

I would just get any cake you like and get a cute cake topper.

I used a photo of the napkin that matched the decor and the grocery store put it on the cake for our woodland themed party. That was 10+ years ago.

If I was doing it now I would use the cake toppers on a cupcake cake.

Wegmans has a sheet cake theme called “Woodland Buddies” that would work for you.
