We are considering enrolling our infant at La Petite Academy of Washington (near Children's Hospital and VA Hospital on Michigan Ave). We conducted a virtual interview with its director Tymeshia Beeks, and were impressed with how she handled all of our questions and with the program itself. Wanted to know if any families would be willing to share their experiences with us. Thank you for your time in advance! |
i visited (pre-covid) was not impressed. rooms were chaotic and sorta depressing, teachers seemed burnt out. they also had a bunch of violations (including leaving an infant unattended...) on the DC regulatory agency website (sorry I'm blanking on where to find that info). when i asked the then-director about the violations i saw she was super shady. |
I had a colleague send her two kids there and she did have any complaints. It's been a while since I've been there - almost 7 years, so this might not be an accurate description of how they are now.
Pros: - they paid for half the diapers - they had great hours - 6am to 6pm for those working early shifts - they offered a week off of tuition per year for vacation - I was impressed with the security they had in place Cons: - the center itself reminded me of a kennel - a long hallway through the entire building with rooms off to the side with glass windows - I remember seeing a lot of the staff sitting hunched over, not interacting with the kids, and I felt that was odd since we were clearly touring through and you would think they would put on their best for tours, made me wonder how they acted when people visitors weren't there |
typo, didn't have any complaints |
