White House Christmas Decor!

I'm pasting in captions, too...

Trees in the Cross Hall are hung with mirrors “and reflect our request to see yourself in this house,” Jill Biden said at a reception for decorating volunteers.

The East Colonnade is decorated to look like a wintry birch forest.

Some of the bells hanging from ribbons in the windows of the Green Room are DIY and made from plastic cups spray-painted gold.

Models of the Bidens' pets Willow, left, and Commander, are on display in the Vermeil Room of the White House.

The traditional Biden family stockings hang in the State Dining Room. One for Peter Neal, Naomi Biden's new husband, hangs to the left.

It’s cute, but people always read way, way too much into the First Lady’s influence. It’s a team of volunteer designers and workers. It’s not like Melania demanded blood trees or chopping down the crabapples in the rose garden. It is probably likely though that the volunteers responded more to Jill Biden’s theme stuff because A) it was probably presented to them coherently and professionally by an actual staff and B) they’re mostly local so probably lean left.

I love it all. Charming! I especially like the bell ribbons in the windows and the striped stockings on the mantel. And the trees in Cross Hall are lovely!

I kind of loved the blood trees. The lighting in the video and Melania’s general air made them look funny, but I think they were lovely.

So pretty. Elegant and simple without being overly stuffy.

I also really like the ribbons in the windows and the stockings. I wish I was better able to incorporate ribbon into my decor.

I liked them, too, in the same way I liked the movie The Menu. Hilariously dark.

The Bidens' Christmas decor looks so warm and inviting, and personal. I don't need the WH to be the setting for a satiric murder mystery - I am good with earnest joy and good wishes. I like that they included the Constitution, too. Seems like a real eff u to TFG.

I love the mirrors in the Cross Hall! Do the DIY bells sound nice, though? I think bell displays should always sound pretty when rung and I often find plastic or glass ones don't.

Also, thank you for pictures, OP!
