My toddler (21 months) recently starting chewing on his whole hand. I'm hoping it might just be a temporary teething thing but I'm reading it might be a self soothing thing. For others who went through this, how did you get your kid to stop? He'll usually listen for all of 2 seconds if I tell him to take his hand out before putting it right back in. He thinks it's a game when I physically take his hand out myself. Any suggestions? TIA! |
He’s probably got molars coming in. Just give him a cold teether from the fridge. |
My dd did this and her hand was often rubbed raw from it. She liked to suck on the spot between her thumb and forefinger. One day she just outgrew it and didn't do it again, so I'd advis you to just be patient. My dd never moved onto a pacifier or thumb sucking or fingernail biting. |
