Adverse drug reaction

I had a bad reaction to an antibiotic I took and am now wondering when it will stop. I had flu symptoms and lung inflammation, which are much better now. Joint inflammation and accompanying nerve problems started a week after I stopped taking the drug. The doctor has a calm attitude about the whole thing and does not know when it will end. The drug I took (Macrobid) has a neurotoxicity effect on some patients, according to my reading. The reaction I had seems to be in line with neurological problems. I haven't taken it in 10 days. I'm in my early 30s and otherwise healthy. These joint problems make me feel old.

Anyone else have a similar problem? Any ideas on when I will be back to normal?
