what do you plan to do with kids today since school is closed?

let them watch screentime or take them out to do something? I am exhausted with this long thanksgiving weekend, need some ideas to survive one more day.

world cup, but maybe go to a museum downtown, see the botanical gardens train exhibit.

My high school senior is stressed out because his teacher won’t have time to go over the material before the lesson nit test, and he really needed some help on it. Any bad grade is the kiss of death for college applications.

My middle schooler is delighted and will occupy herself with mindless activities, just like she did all Thanksgiving break…

Try to actually work while they are home.

I’m a teacher. If a student emailed me questions today about a test, I’d answer them and send any helpful resources.

We already know distance learning doesn’t work. It’s kind of you to keep working so hard to try to make up for Central office failures, but it can’t be enough with students and teachers in the same room.

Worked great for us. It didn't work for the kids who goofed off and didn't pay attention because their parents checked out.

DH and I will be able to take the afternoon off and will try to go on a fun outing. There's been a lot of unstructured time over the long weekend (thanks, rainy weather) so I'm hoping we can make some lemon bars out of this mess.

We're at IHOP now. I've got meetings starting in a bit, so she'll read or play then, and hopefully we'll get outside this afternoon. It's a long day, because I needed to start work early and I'll be working after she's in bed to make up for the time of during the day. I feel bad for her, though, she was sick the two days of school for Thanksgiving week, so it's been a long time without a normal school day.

I’m working. Kid is gaming with his friends.

My kids are in HS and MS, and I am embarrassed to say that in all this time of unexpected closures, I never thought to go out to breakfast. Next time!

Most teens are not up anytime in the breakfast eating hour.

My kids are doing chores while I work in the office. I promised them we would do something fun in the pm if they clean in the am.

Apparently "hang out on DCUM and kvetch all day" seems to be a popular choice.
