We have to do IVF due to make factor. I want/need to loose a good amount of weight before my egg retrieval. We are months off anyway from any kid if real treatment.
Does anyone know if mounjaro would have a negative effect if taken now? I know metformin an older glp1 is safe during IVF and pregnancy. Obviously I wouldn't take mounjaro leading up to transfer or even ideally off it for 2-3 months before retrieval. I'm grasping at straws here |
I wouldn’t think so. If anything, I think it would improve your fertility via losing weight. With the weight loss, perhaps your hormones levels will become more normal and you will have a natural return of fertility and may end up not needing IVF at all. Either way- I think losing weight with meds would be great. As long as you stop them at least a month before conceiving |
I had fertility issues and I’ve been through IVF. I don’t know about the drug, but I do know that when dealing with fertility issues it can be beyond stressful enough that you don’t want to leave room for any doubt. “What if I’d done this” or “What I’d done that” or “I did this, is it it going to hurt anything”.
Do you already have a Dr lined up for IVF? If so, I would ask them and/or your ob/gyn. I asked my Dr at the IVF clinic absolutely everything! And what I didn’t ask him, I asked his assistant. They are used to it. The only eye rolling I got was about eating pineapple core ![]() |
Doctor told me I must be off two months before transfer, and should be on it six months to see good results. |
