Jerry Jones tried to stop integration at his Arkansas HS

As a young person, it’s striking that people like this are still alive and in positions of power.

I am not defending the guy, but how many of us would own our actions when we were his age and in that context and era?

The question is, has he evolved by words and deeds in the intervening decades?

I was thinking along your lines.

Sadly, I don’t think most of the people who were blocking integration have evolved.

The Washington Post article on this is incredibly long and very good and very well researched. I read most of it yesterday. The answer seems to be, not really. Here’s the whole thing, free because I’m a subscriber. Interested to hear others’ thoughts on this.

What exactly is Jones doing here apart from watching?

Read the article. He ran up to help block the door, even though his coach told the whole team not to be there.

Dan Snyder sipping wine and cackling at his Potomac mansion while all other owners quiver in fear.

I’m no Jerry Jones fan, but to be fair the article is a bit more nuanced than is made out here. For instance:

That Jones is willing to confront his record amid the NFL’s public race reckoning, which includes a class-action lawsuit filed by Brian Flores that alleges a pattern of racial discrimination, makes him an exception. Of 32 requests issued by The Post to speak with NFL ownership, only Jones agreed to meet for an in-depth conversation.

Yep.

Especially a lot of the gentile owners trying to get a Jewish owner out

The way he acted when the players were taking a knee showed that he haven’t.

Is this the new one we are cancelling? Can’t keep track anymore

I read that Bezos is interested in buying the Commanders. It seems that he is also willing to consider the Cowboys.

1) Could you post your social media, emails, and previous communications. So that we can know what type of person you are...
2) Picture shows that he is there. Doesn't show what the title of this post says.
3) What is striking is that this was posted at all without knowing anything.
