Early intervention in VA - for non-English speaking family

Anonymous
Does anyone know whether Early Intervention in VA provides translators for non-English speakers?

Great question! I know that the early intervention program in my community has materials available in Spanish, so I assume they offer services in Spanish? But I could be wrong. Not sure about other languages.

Yes. Call the local school. You want Childfind.

Yes, call the PIE (Parent Infant Education) program and they will provide you with a service coordinator (they have a few that speak Spanish and other languages), and/or provide you with a interpreter. Good luck!!

If you can provide the county, we can help better. If it’s a non-Spanish speaking family, they may need a translator but it will be provided.

Yes, they will either have a translator or use a translation service. You either want PIE through the county or Child Find through APS.
