Found out someone who’ll be at TG had to have emergency oral surgery today. Ideas for treats I can bring for them that’ll make an hour car ride and can be easily purchased/prepared tonight? Thanks!
Pie. Just bring a pumpkin or sweet potato pie. Or, my aunt makes Sweet Potato Pudding and its amazing, and that would be OK too.
Who knows what their after-care rules are? Just them. So ask them - bone broth, apple sauce, Tylenol with codeine?

Ice cream, popsicles, fresh fruit sorbet (make sure it's blended really well and smooth), pudding, chocolate mousse, homemade applesauce.
It depends on what instructions they were given, but DC couldn't eat hot food or anything solid for several days. Cold things like ice cream were best. |
Anything super soft with no chunks. I'd opt for butternut squash soup, sweet potato casserole (no nuts), mashed potatoes, etc.
Depending on type of surgery, they should be fine with any purées like mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, etc. Mechanical soft would also include soft stuffing and overcooked carrots, potatoes, etc.
Soup! No chunks. I’d buy it. Pumpkin based?
Deviled eggs, if the person likes them. It's nice to have something that isn't sweet.

I wouldn’t classify it as a treat, but years ago when I had oral surgery I really liked La Madeleine’s tomato basil soup. It was thick and hearty, but still smooth.
In terms of a treat: puddings custards ice cream milk/shakes smoothies cream pies (at least the fillings) |
Talk to the patient. Maybe it's a simple " chew on the other side" situation.
