I know that I'm late to the game (mea culpa! mea culpa!)... just bought a turkey at Costco which is 22 pounds and is still frozen.
That's not enough time to thaw in the fridge. How would you make sure it's thawed by Thursday morning? |
| I'd thaw it in the sink (if you have a double sink) or in a largce pot/container/roasting pan. If it's rock solid the night before, I'd put it in a water bath (still in the packaging of course!). Good luck! |
| OP here. Thanks! I will probably do this. Would you add ice to keep the temp low or is that not needed? |
not needed, and not helpful if the bird is already frozen solid |
| Put it in a cooler, and fill with enough cold water to cover the bird. The cooler will keep it cold enough while the turkey thaws. |
| Home Depot bucket. Add water. |
