How early do you buy fresh turkey

Mil went out and bought fresh today to cook for Thursday. I read they only keep raw for 1-2 days. Is 3 days pushing it?

If she is bringing it, it will be fine. But think about it, it is either in her fridge or the grocery store fridge.
