Where to go for late afternoon tea or coffee with a friend in downtown Rockville?

I'm meeting up with a friend who's coming from Baltimore for a weekday conference in Rockville. I don't know the area at all and would appreciate any suggestions for a place where we can have tea or coffee before she has dinner with colleagues. TIA for your recommendations!

OP here -- Yes, I'd say downtown Rockville is the same as Rockville Town Center (or, fancifully, Centre ). Java Nation looks like it would fit the bill, but I'm hoping for something that we could walk to. Thanks!

They have a Starbucks there. And a Panera (at least they used to). Lavande Patisserie is within walking distance.

Dawson's market has an espresso bar and seating area. Coffee is good and they have some pastries

I'd do Dawson's.

If not, I'd do Panera.
