APS gift rules

I have a kindergartener so this is my first experience with giving gifts. It is true that the limit is $100 per teacher per year? That’s more than I expected. Are we allowed to give gift cards?

Also, do you typically do gifts for your child’s specials teachers?

Yes that is the limit. I give gifts to specials teachers if they have a particular impact on my kid. I usually give a $25 gift card and a nice note. That’s on par with what I receive from a few of my own students

Homeroom parents always collected for the class, and I gave to that rather than doing a separate gift.

This is OP. We don’t have home room parents at DD’s school. We don’t even have home room.

We don't have class parents. Some years we have, this year I haven't heard of any, so they are awfully quiet if they have stepped up to volunteer. We have a very active and supportive PTA though.

So I always just give directly to the teachers.
