Baklava?

Anonymous
Hello, all. Where to get baklava or some other middle eastern dessert at the last minute? (In NW DC but can go to Bethesda if needed)!

Yekta market has baklava. It’s in Rockville, on Rockville Pike, which may be a little further than you intended, but people keep calling Rockville North Bethesda. You might google Middle Eastern (or Greek) markets and find something closer.

I haven’t seen baklava at Costco since pre-pandemic.
Balduccis imports some good baklava.

I don’t know how much time you have, but baklava is not hard to make.

No, just no.

I am someone who does a lot of from scratch, takes all day on the weekend cooking and baking. I also have Turkish heritage (from Gaziantep no less) and baklava is most definitely something best left to the professionals.

Moby Dick changed their baklava supplier a few years ago. Quality is way down.
