Installing appliance (dishwasher) through retailer

Do most people use whomever the store sends, or their own plumber. I'm thinking of buying a dishwasher through Appliances Connection and I'm a little nervous as there are no reviews on the website.

I've always just used the retailer's people. I've had fine experiences with M&M and Bray & Scarff. (Yes, I know people dislike them, but B&S has been totally reliable for delivery and installation. Last experience was a year ago.)

Similar. I do think you need someone who knows what they're doing. Installing a dishwasher is fairly involved. We used M&M last time and they did a fine job.

Do not recommend Appliances Connection, either one of them. I just bought a dishwasher though them, it didn't fit where it was supposed to fit, and doesn't look like the photo they show of it, either. And we can't return it.

OP here, thank you. I would love to use M&M, have called them multiple times to find out if the item is in stock. The guy is great, but the dishwasher is not in stock and they don't know when it will be.

We used M&M earlier this year. I just picked from the dishwashers they had in stock, and the process was smooth.

Any experiences people could share with the big box stores? The prices can be much better than the local appliance dealers, plus Black Friday is coming up. I really worry that the installation will be lousy, though.

We've bought several appliances from Home Depot. No problems with installation. Installation is really simple for most appliances, so there isn't all that much that can go wrong.

I just ordered a dishwasher from HD. I paid for installation but it won’t happen on the day of delivery. I’ll need to schedule a time for their installer to come out. I’ll post a follow up after.

I bought from Home Depot. It was great. Military discount, they delivered and installed, made sure everything worked before they left, and even hauled away my old dishwasher.

I’m getting mine installed by a Lowe’s installer tomorrow. Pray for me that it goes without a hitch, we are hosting a large thanksgiving in a week!

Our neighbor was just defrauded by the plumber that Home Depot sent (scammed them into adding more plumbing work that wasn't needed as part of the install, and Home Depot didn't care so it seems like they will continue to use the company) so we are avoiding retailers. Looking for a place that does their own install in house - is M&M the only option for that? They sound good but it's unclear how to add the install when we're buying online.

Looks like the company that scammed my neighbor also does installs for Best Buy. So yeah, looking for some in-house install options.
