Please Recommend a nice gift for a yoga enthusiast

ISO a thoughtful and quality gift for a dear friend who loves yoga.

I have been doing yoga for 25 years and I have to say this is a hard question The one thing I would never buy someone else is a yoga mat, since its a personal choice on material, thickness, etc (sort of like a purse).

Does she do yoga at home? If so, a nice yoga blanket, bolster and eye pillow would be nice.

Here are some great books for yogis:

If you are open to gift certificates, you can't go wrong with Alo Yoga, Manduka or Lululemon

If you know where they practice, I would suggest a gift card to the yoga studio. Some studios are very pricey, so a "free" class feels like a great gift.

These are wonderful suggestions! Thank you! Would a set of the bolster pillows be useful? If not, which size/shape do you think would be used the most?

Most of the enthusiasts I know that go to a studio, just do a a yearly membership, or memberships at multiple places (DH does this). I would check with her first to see what her process is.

You sound like a dear and thoughtful friend, OP.

I'm a CYT 200 and I loved the PPs reply with suggestions. I see the bolsters spoke to you and you're wondering which style. That's the thing about yoga, it's all so personal and unique to the individual. I don't know which style of bolster your friend prefers in practice or if they use one at all. Lots of people I know just fold up their yoga blanket and use the bolsters provided at their studio if they want one, so they limit what they need to bring to class. Like blocks, there's so many available and they're bulky so ofter people don't bring yoga blocks to class even when they know they'll use them.

I love your spirit of giving and true appreciation for your friend, I'm sure they'll see your thoughtfulness no matter what you choose.

I do yoga at home and in studio. At home I have two different bolsters, a yoga blanket, two cork blocks, yoga knee pads, a yoga wheel, and a strap. The knee pads and the wheel were gifts, which I love. I also recommend maybe a travel mat (Manduka makes a great one) that can be folded small and put in a carryon.
