| DC switched to Catholic HS this year from public MS. Is it me, or are the Catholics (kids and parents) just way more put together than the publics and the non-Catholic independents? Seriously. Better social skills, better presentation, more interesting conversatins. |
You have to be a troll, right? Either way I've found the kids at the independent schools to be way more well-spoken and comfortable with adults than the ones at the Catholic schools I've toured. |
| I’ve noticed the opposite in our Arlington area. The catholic school parents seem to be just a bit pudgier and less put together. |

You have got to be kidding.
This is a troll post. |
| Georgetown prep is beautiful. |
| OP here. Not sure what a toll post is. I'm seriously asking. Seems that the Catholic parents are more executives/sales/business and able to relate to more people and understand the value of presentation skills and talking about a range of subjects. Compared to publics and independents who are policy/law/journalism + wonkier and a little less at ease socially and whose conversations seem to dive really deep into policy, legislation, social justice issues, etc. And they don't dress as well, that's a fact. |
If you don’t know what a troll post is, you lack self-awareness. |
I'll take this as a serious question. If I had to guess, you're picking up on the fact that Catholic parents skew more conservative. And you're probably right that they skew more towards business and sales careers, whereas secular private schools have more parents who are professors, doctors, law etc. It is true that people in business and sales tend to be more comfortable with "small talk" and people in some other tracks don't feel as comfortable or interested in small talk and are more comfortable conversing with people they know better. But I don't think the line is that clear or easy to see as you are suggesting. I've been to a lot of private school open houses lately and have seen plenty of casual/frumpy doctor parents at Catholic school events and business professional types at secular school events. |

Oh wayyyy better looking than those poor slobs from Publix and their matted hair and walmart hand me downs.

Please stop. This is such an awkward post, OP
-A parent of two children at Catholic schools. |
If you know enough to write “OP here”, you absolutely know what a troll post is. |
| It’s all the praying. |
|
OP - if you are for real, while I am happy that you and DC have found their fit, I don’t think you are truly engaging in the Catholic theology. This is an awful post. I can’t think of what you hope to gain except snark.

Maybe it’s the uniforms. Are British, Japanese and Indian high schoolers more out together in test-in schools? |
Please grow up Op. Get out and travel. Put together looking people are all over the country and world in all kinds of schools and professions. True, it used to be more of a goal for American society…. Social media and stay home all day killed that |
