Someone on the other thread posted books that she likes more than the books she remembers, so I thought I would create a spin off thread.
What newer kids' books do you love? My favorite hands down is a book called Paper Dolls by Julia Donaldson. I'd love to find someone else who has read & liked the book as I feel kind of weird about how much I love it. |

I grew up loving Little House but have mixed feelings about it as an adult/to pass on to my kids. I recently read Pairie Lotus on a rec and I ADORE it and hope my kids will too.
Mo Willems Pidgeon books and the Llama Llama books are also really fun to read. |

OP--I will definitely check out Paper Dolls because I love so many other Julia Donaldson. In addition to Room on the Broom and Gruffalo, I really love The Snail and the Whale.
Wild Robot blew me away. It is so good, and I love the illustrations as well. I love a lot of Peter Brown's picture books too (Curious Garden, Mr Tiger Goes Wild) but they don't compare to Wild Robot. |

OP, Check out the Doll People book series, ny Anne Martin.

| I love paper dolls!! That book really makes me teary eyed. I also like finding the butterfly in each scene. |
| My boys and I really liked Carl Hiaasen's books like Hoot, Squirm, and Scat. |

My kids loved the piggie and elephant booms and any books by Mo Williems

| I really love Julian is a mermaid. A beautiful book about acceptance without hitting you over the head with the message. |
