I only came across some of these essays incidentally when i was doing some snooping but I don't understand why they are assigning these topics, almost as if in secret. Why aren't these part of their regular homework?
"Give 3 reasons why China will be economically ascendant over the United States in the coming century." "What factors inculcate excellence in the Chinese Communist Party's leadership? Give specific examples." What is going on in this school??? |
It's partially owned by Chinese investors. |
is this true? lol!!! |
Just wait until 12th grade when they teach an entire class on "the physiological and moral superiority of the Han Chinese and their relationship to the sundry inferior peoples of the world." I had to really bite my tongue if I wanted my (admittedly inferior) white pig daughter to graduate on time. |
Wait seriously...? |
I'm sure they have American students best interests at heart. There's no other explanation I can think of for them being involved in US education. |
This is got to be a troll. BASIS attracts a lot of trolls. Tell me it is a troll. |
What grade was this? Is this real? |
Why are you triggered by assignments that ask students to think on their feet and argue a perspective that might be different from their own? Debate classes do this all the time.
Either suffer the consequences of snooping in silence and watch the wild speculation unfold on an anonymous forum, or fess up to your child and ask them to explain the context because you are genuinely curious about what they think. |
Somebody please confirm or deny! |

Not OP but I am not surprised by the essay questions. Always a vague, constant sinophilic undercurrent there bordering on obsession. My DC is no longer there. |
This is hilarious |
Please tell me that this is a troll post.
