Infertility Support and Discussion
AF was expected yesterday, but my cycles aren't exact anymore so I don't test right away. I'm on a diet that keeps me from eating sweets and junk food, or drinking wine - my usual coping methods. So what do I do? Shop. In the last week, I've bought two bathing suits, two pairs of sandals, a pair of shorts and a $450 purse. Technically all "needed" to update items that are getting pretty old and sad looking, but still, the equation "things = baby" does not work. Before anyone lectures, I can afford to pay for these things. But still, not the best way to handle the stress.
how far into the 2ww are you? try reading a really good book, one that you can't wait to get home and read.
I expected AF sometime between Tuesday and today, although Friday wouldn't be out of the ordinary. I try not to think about it but can't stop.
OP it's called retail therapy, and it's okay as long as you don't get carried away. BTW, it worked for me as well as a good book and some chocolate.
I so understand you. I finally gave up this thought that "I should not be buying clothes because I might be pregnant very soon" after 3 years trying to conceive. Now if I want something (within reason), I buy it. You need to live your life and keep yourself distracted. I also book vacations and getaways to keep my mind off and keep sad feelings/disappointments away.
