First priority of the new house- impeachment, defunding Ukraine or abortion?

They talked about crime and inflation but we all know that was just talk. Maybe they will defund the FBI and grant amnesty to the terrorist and coup plotters?

while I get the odds are slim, the House isn't 100% decided yet.

Can you really rule out tax cuts?

I think they will declare Trump the Emperor of North American and dissolved the house.

The House will be ungovernable for the GOP because they won't have a big enough majority. So none of these things will happen.

1. Social Security because this fattens their pockets.
2. Abortion & Contraception full bans
3. Civil rights gone
4. Any other legislation that will tank the economy etc

What we will not get is a new Heath Ins any plan what so ever.

They’ll have to cool their jets. The House is not going to be the overwhelming majority the Rs were salivating about.

+1 I was going to say they won’t be able to find their own ass with both hands, but this is a much better summary.

I’d like to follow up with all the so-called moderate or swing GOP voters in a year to see how that GOP governance is working out for them. When the GOP gets in charge of the purse, it’s like junkies invading a house. They first get to stripping the place for parts they can sell off, they abandon the yard, then they work on inviting in their friends. By the end the place is falling apart, the pipes are gone, and there is crap smeared on the walls. Then they vote in Democrats to fix the problem and expect HGTV miracles overnight. Not how it works, but it never seems to stop the cycle.

They will get none of these things done. First and foremost, they do not have anywhere close to a veto-proof majority. They will barely have a majority (projected 222-224 with 218 needed for a majority). If they have any defections on any topic, it will not go through. Second, if the Senate stays in Democratic hands, then it will be a full do-nothing Congress as Schumer will block any Republican agenda from the House from gaining enough traction in the Senate. And even if there is someone like Manchin who defects and votes with the Republicans, again, it will not be a veto-proof majority.

The only major thing that will happen if the House flips is that Biden will be severely limited in what he'll be able to get done on his agenda. There will be no Republican milestones achieved.

They aren’t going to be able to do anything except having some hearings.

They can do a debt default or government shutdown if McCarthy sticks with the Hastert rule. They can also do some performative abortion stuff. Although both seem pretty stupid ideas after Tuesday night.

That really is the old Republican Party. The republicans of today will not pass a tax cut unless it hurt the libs some how. They do nor care about the country, taxes, defense, etc.

They will barely have the votes together to pick a speaker. They will have a very hard time doing anything remotely controversial. Looking as low as a 219-216 majority right now

Impeachment, for sure. They don't GAF about the state of the country, just revenge. That's how the Rs have been rolling these days.
