I haven't been active in web forums for years, but I remember back in the day having a cool little handle and avatar was all the rage. Times have changed, I guess. Or maybe this is just a different crowd.

Yeah, it's a long story but we have always had anonymous posting and our users don't want us to require logins. It's fairly uncommon however.

This is a different crowd - or at least, it's a different sort of website. There are so many different topics, many of them sensitive or private or intimate, that anonymity is the only way that it could work.

Oh yes, yes, there are still hidden secrets to be uncovered. Like, Larla and Larlo are a poster’s kids’ names. It comes from a troll post ages ago (I’ve been on here too long) where an OP pretended to ask whether she should call her daughter Larla.
