We’d like to stay near NYU - I’ve done some searches with maps etc and checked visitor section of NYU admissions page but doesn’t seem like many hotels in this area? Please let me know if you have any suggestions. Thank you!

Washington Square hotel on Waverly Place

I used to stay in Hotel 17 a lot which is right in the midst of NYU but I think they only take long term bookings now.

Washington Square Hotel is a lovely older hotel and very well run, but many rooms are very small. It is often the least expensive option and vey convenient. You get very good feel for campus. Hyatt Union Square is a more typical hotel room size and closer to 14 th Street/Union Square commercial. It is often at least $100 more per night than Washington Square Hotel. The Marlton on West 8th is also very nice, in the older, small room, quirky boutique way. It has a good restaurant, bar, and coffee area. Price is usually more than Washington Square, but lower than Hyatt.

NYU doesn’t have a campus.

Technically they do. My sophomore nyu student lives on campus, meaning is in a building “owned” by the school. They also had specific Covid protocol that they said were enforced on “school grounds and buildings”.

I second the Marlton. Small rooms, but great location. Love the lounge with fireplace in the winter !

I just stayed a couple of weeks ago at the Walker Hotel Greenwich Village, on W. 13th between 5th and 6th. Very convenient and amazingly quiet even with a street-facing room. I would definitely stay there again.
