The Building Museum is extremely popular with parents and nannies in the District.
|
| There's a great splash park in Germantown. |
|
Ooooo these look good. I hadn't thought of a splash park, but sounds like fun. Will look into it. Never heard of the Building Museum either. Thx..
What is the Duck tour and where is it? |
| Yes the Building Museum is great but I think our 3 year year old liked Mount Vernon even better. The children's museum there is wonderful. The ladies do a great job. The children dress up in clothes from that period and the ladies do a great storytime. They have a big playhouse that is a replica of the house. We are looking forward to the working farm this summer. When you pay admission for an extra $10. you get the yearly pass and the young children do not pay. You can also take a boat from DC or Alexandria to Mount Vernon and back. The Pirate Cruise in Alexandria is fun also. |
| Thank you for the great ideas! |
| Fairfax Corner has a great water feature and they have kiddie shows there every other week for free (Great Zucchini was there last Wednesday). You can see the show and then stay and let the little one play in the water. |

| Try: www.gocitykids.com and click on the DC calendar. It's a great site and they usually list about 20 activities per day in the DC metro area. |

College Park Airport Museum -- good on a hot or rainy day. Room to roam.
Also the Medical Museum at Walter Reed. You can drive onto the campus from the Georgia Ave entrance and part right in front. Funky stuff, but again, room to roam when you need to get out of the weather. |
