What have you heard recently from ADs concerning the prospects for movement off the wait list?

We called this week and were told no movement for K at Sidwell at this point.

Meaning that everyone who was offered a slot accepted? Or that they haven't sorted through all their contracts yet?

OP-what type of slot are you looking for? Boy or girl? Did you do other things in addition to calling the AD?

I think their deadline was March 31, so presumably everyone returned a deposit.

And yes, we did write a letter reaffirming our interest in the school, but that was it.

Any word on other schools?

I think the deadline for most schools is today, so you wouldn't expect any movement yet.

GDS said "extremely slim" for K. Our friends were told the same.

I think most schools are reviewing wait list candidates this week-- last friday was contract return deadline at a lot of places, so in theory this week admissions officers are sitting down to see how many spaces, if any, are open in each grade, and which "categories" of kids they need (girls/extroverts/minorities/summer birthdays whatever). Then they go over files of wait-listed applicants... select based on aforementioned demographic needs-- make calls-- give 24 hours or so to respond-- if answers are positive, end of story; if negative, repeat process (also repeat process down the road if new slots open because people withdraw later for one reason or another).
