Biden Campaigning for 2022 Midterms

Would someone who knows a lot more about political campaigns than I do please explain to me why Biden's handlers had him in Florida recently, and why he will be campaigning in CA, MD and NM this week? I always thought those states were solidly blue. My less-than-informed theory is that they are keeping him in places that they are writing off as hopeless (FL) or in places that they know that they will win, bar an asteroid hitting the planet (CA, MD, NM), thus limiting damage that he can do to D candidates who might still have a chance.

Is that right? Or should I keep my day job?

Generally a president doesn’t campaign for midterms if their approval rating is under 50%. But for appearances they have to send him somewhere. I’m not an expert though.

Follow the money. Biden did fundraiser in Miami for Crist. Florida is out of reach for the Ds.

There are red areas in CA. See Devin Nunez. Yes, I know he is no longer a congressman and left to head up Trump's "Truth" Social.. lol.. can't say that with a straight face.

I lived in CA for 40 years, and voted R many times.

Yep. That more than anything else dictates where he does or doesn’t go.

Dems in tight races wouldn’t be caught dead standing on a stage with him right now. So he’s relegated to showing up for incumbents in safe districts.

I remember when Republicans were apoplectic about Mrs. Clinton not visiting safe seeming states enough and now you’re mad that Democrats are campaigning in safe seeming states? I’m sorry, I thought you were all up in arms about resting on one’s laurels but now you’re mad that people aren’t?

Funny how Biden got offended when the reporter asked him why no democratic candidates wanted him to stump with them. Biden said he’d fielded a dozen requests, which in and of itself is an insultingly low number. Then he only makes two trips. When your approval is at 38% you’re toxic even in blue states.

Republicans can’t admit what a shambles their beloved god king Donald left the country in. Over and above the regular work of the presidency and the vice presidency, Biden and Harris have been having to fix every ketchup-splattered plate of democracy and rule of law that Donald flung, every toilet clogged with the papers of decency and diplomacy.

Republicans just like being mad and miserable. Their whole worldview is oriented to getting another hit off the cortisol pipe.
