Grades need to be submitted by 5pm on Monday 11/7.

That being said, the Synergy grading platform and previous Pinnacle platform are both wildly incapable of handling all teacher reports being posted on the same day. Teachers have been burned for many years by spending 4-5 hours trying to post grades on the professional day. I cut off my late work deadline earlier and post grades early (today). I then use the professional day to plan for the next marking period.

Note - the last day for teachers to enter grades is not the same as the last day for students to submit work. Teachers will have set deadlines for assignments this week, with end of school day 11/4 typically being the deadline for the quarter.

Of course, individual exceptions might be made for example for students who were sick this week. But typically the teacher would issue an I (incomplete) and then arrange time to finish the work.

My school planned a field trip for sixth graders tomorrow. We aren’t taking late work after today.

Why do teachers wait till last to grade ? If they grade is on time, parents can follow-up with their kids for the missing work.

I have an assessment Monday and several kids were absent. I had to wait for them to return to school to take it and grade it. Then, when several missed the entire week we had to wait on guidance from admin about how to assign a grade for the quarter.

Everything I am grading this weekend was turned in late. Sometimes weeks late. Our principal said we had to accept everything through yesterday.
