DBT for Autistic teen?

Has anyone tried and had success with DBT for an Autistic teen? Our main issues are meltdowns/emotional regulation, impulsivity and executive functioning. DX of ASD/ADHD and history of depression but currently in remission.

Yes that is highly recommended by our asd specialist psychologist for an adult we have, who wouldn’t put the effort in just with her or for us, and half the places around here only do it for teens, not adults. Takes about a year

While DBT is the one of the only scientifically studied protocols for many of the issues described it really has only been found to be effective when kids /teens do three rounds of it. It’s rare to find a kid compliant enough to do that and I have a hunch the success rate for this modality is likely over blown for this reason — only the really compliant willing participants stick with it. Then they report success. The rest refuse it or get bored or get confused by the endless stream of cute acronyms sent their way. …
