| Where should I take my baseball loving 9 year old over the winter? He did AA this fall and really should have done AAA but I didn’t realize he was ready for it when we registered. I remember reading about a place around Tyson’s that people took kids to over the winter but can’t find it. We live around wolf trap so Tyson’s/reston would be great or even Sterling. What are his options? I prefer a weekly class/group instead of expensive one on ones? |
| Kids typically rest late Nov- Jan for baseball to support proper arm Care. That being said, conditioning is still important. Some kids train at Primetime or ignite to work on improving certain skills. You aren’t going to find many winter teams. |

Diamond hero’s is another.

| That's too much baseball. Give your kid a break. |
| C5telite.com is great |
| Metro baseball has weekly clinics |
This. The kid is only 9. |

At 9?
Play catch in the backyard on nicer days if he wants to. Take him to the indoor cages once in awhile to hit for fun, if he wants to. Watch a few old baseball games (or even something like a little league World Series game) with him on a snow day. If he is interested in learning to pitch, watch some YouTube tutorials with him and let him give it a try in the yard. You can buy a pitch back net and rubber plate on Amazon, and mark 46ft with tape or similar. Too young for lessons IMO. |
| Why is everybody freaking out about too much baseball? Kids go to swim lessons to learn to swim I don’t just throw them in the deep end come summer. Kids want to learn to dance you sign them up for dance classes. I’m not such a lazy parent I turn on the tv and say watch this music video??? |
I have a baseball obsessed kid who isn’t interested in other sports so we do some camps and clinics as they pop up and our little league snow lot. It’s to keep him occupied more than to get better. I would also say that watching Old baseball games has definitely made him a better player, lots of scenarios pop up and he’s made plays based on them. |
Diamond Heroes is a hot mess and has been for quite some time. There are better places out there. Close to you, try Bradley or Perfect Performance. |
| Bradley Baseball in Reston, Pitch, Hit Run in Tysons, MVP Baseball in Herndon, or Pitchers Edge in Vienna are your best bets. |
| Baseball Zone in Gaithersburg is top notch! |
| DBat, also in Gaithersburg. |
