Ordering Thanksgiving to-go (heat at home), recommend flavorful options

Anonymous
Last year I was miserable trying to get everything in order on Thanksgiving. This year I plan to wise-up and pre-order a heat and eat type of Thanksgiving to-go. Where can I find a delicious Turkey? How about flavorful sides? Desserts?
I’m willing to order piece meal from multiple locations if the taste is worth it.

L'Auberge Chez Francois does a takeout Thanksgiving for 8 which sounds delicious. We've done their takeout Christmas menu and it was wonderful.

We did Wegmans last year and were happy with it.

The year my son was born we did Wegmans for Thanksgiving and Whole Foods for Christmas—nearly identical menu items. Everyone agreed Wegmans was better. One year we picked up a whole family meal from Cracker Barrel (in Manassas) for Thanksgiving. It was AMAZING. Delicious and everything was warm and ready to eat.

I'm planning on doing this, OP, and searched the archives recently. It seemed like the places that got the best reviews were Ridgewells, Neighborhood Provisions, and Balduccis. Whole Foods didn't get a lot of love and Wegmans was mixed. Balduccis got good reviews but people noted it's expensive.

One nice thing about Ridgewells is that it's more a la carte and there are tons of options, whereas most others you order a pre-set thanksgiving meal.

Relish catering is doing thanksgiving menus. Delish.

Nieman Marcus will cater your entire Thanksgiving dinner or portions of it. It’s absolute perfection.

Ridgewells seems surprisingly reasonable given the increased prices everywhere else. I am tempted.

+1 We've done Wegmans and Cracker Barrel. Both were good but we liked Cracker Barrel better.

We do Chinese for Christmas - it's so much more pleasant not to have to do all that cooking!

I'm also looking at GoldBelly.

Didn’t balduccis do a lot of people do a lot of people wrong last year? I remember seeing it in the news. People standing in lines for 3-5 hours to be handed meatloaf and salmon because they ran out of Turkey.

We had a great experience with Praline.

Wegmans was awful at Christmas. Wouldn’t even feed the leftover filet to my dog. It was good at thanksgiving but sides are easy so I didn’t buy those.
