DD had a major temper tantrum this morning. Felt like I needed to take her to the ER she wouldn’t calm down.

Why would you take a child throwing a temper tantrum to the ER and waste the doctor's time not to mention patience!

Only if she was a serious danger to herself or others.
Otherwise, it seems like it would just escalate the situation and next time it would be worse.

Everything depends on the age and whether she poses a danger to self or others. If she’s older you probably couldn’t have gotten her there. So then your option would be the police.
