Iep: moving from no academic support to just social work goals

| In my HFA child's IEP, it was proposed that he receive no support other than social work. This is a big change! How do I know if my children is ready? What dictates a need for just social work goals and not academic? |

| If the child does not need specialized instruction and goals in academic areas, that is appropriate. |

| What grade is he in? What academic support is he currently receiving? What makes the school think that he no longer needs that support (as opposed to the support is what is allowing him to be successful)? |
