DC plans to apply next year for Auto Mechanics. We went to the open house a couple weeks ago. Very impressive. Only talked to auto students, but all were really enthusiastic about the program, teachers and the life skills they are learning beyond the technical skills - team work, problem solving, project management. Granted, those are my words, not theirs, but as someone who has done a lot of hiring, I'm excited about my child's potential to build these skills.

At the open house, there were many local businesses present, as program sponsors and job recruiters. Again, my experience is limited to the auto mechanics as it's the program DC is interested in, but the local dealerships were well represented and talking to all the parents about college tuition reimbursement and comprehensive benefits packages.

The building is impressive, too!

We donated a car and they gave us a tour. It seemed really well run and a good program.

The happiest kids at the MCPS HS I work at are the ones who rush off to take the bus to Edison at lunch. It seems like a great set of programs! Sorry I don't have any firsthand experience.
