S/O: What domestic (or no-passport-needed) all-inclusive resorts have you and your family enjoyed?

Anonymous
Would love specific recommendations of family-friendly all-inclusives. I'd love to stay domestic, or places that don't require passports. My kids are 10 and 7. Thank you!

If you don't like all-inclusives, please don't respond. There's enough of that opinion in the other thread, and that's fine, but this is an option I want to explore for my family.

There are virtually NO all inclusives in the US or Puerto Rico. At one time, there was a Club Med in Sandpiper FL, but I believe they have closed. There is also an adults only all inclusive in the Keys. Some of the dude ranches have all inclusive pricing, and the Wyndham Grande Rio in Puerto Rico sometimes offers an "all-inclusive" add-on, but not year round.

Hope this helps. Most all inclusives are in Mexico, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, St. Lucia, and a few in Turks/Caicos.

Echoing above, they don't exist in the US/territories. However, if you don't mind cruises, you can get many of the same amenities of all-inclusive and you don't need a passport if it's a closed-loop cruise out of the US, even if you are going to other countries.

If you don’t mind the price Mohonk Mountain is all inclusive, and we really enjoyed a few days there.

Theres a club med in Quebec/Montreal- no passport if you drive

Woodloch in northeastern Pennsylvania. Its a very fun time for a 3-4 days for the entire (extended) family. Our family has been going for almost 40 years. We now have 3 generations and about 35-40 people go each year. Its a little kitchy, but super fun. But its not cheap.

I had no idea about this. Are the Club Meds still good?

You could go to Carpon Springs. It’s about 2 hours from DC.

Truly, what is it about an all inclusive that appeals to you for a domestic vacation? Are you looking for a meal plan or is it the activities? There are tons of family resorts that include activities, but are not considered all inclusive, because it does not include all you can eat, buffets, etc. We could probably give you better information if we understood what you were really looking for.

Most people will need a passport. Sure you can use a passport card but the days of using a birth certificate are over I think.

Woodloch is the best but be aware there’s no kids club and alcohol is not included if that’s what you want.
