My travels with Mrs. Kennedy - Clint Hill

Anonymous
This is his fourth book. Some of the stories are repeated from other books, but the pictures are an incredible time capsule of history.

Clint Hill served in the Secret Service under five presidents and was assigned to Jackie Kennedy during JFK’s admin. If you watch the Zapruder film of the assassination, he is the agent riding the side board of the car behind the president in Dallas on 11/22. He leapt from the car when the shots started and kept until the back of the car and was on the trunk as it sped towards Parkland Hospital.

He is now 91.

I wonder why he decided to write another book now? One last chance to share stories/pictures? One last chance to earn money? Such a long time ago now

He got remarried. Trying to cash in.

I didn't realize he'd lived in Alexandria.

He and his wife were looking for the medal he’d received from that day in Dallas and was also removing items from his house which was being put up for sale. They came across this trunk which contained items and pictures from their travels which forms the basis for this book. There are photos which no one has ever seen including when she and he were served hash brownies in Morocco.

I'll not be reading it now, but I'm glad he was able to put down in a book anything he wanted to share considering his age.

I saw an interview with him and his story was very interesting.

There is a great series of photos of her and her sis with the kids before they went trick or treating unknown with a small detail in Georgetown in 1962. The book is worth it for the photos.
