| Looking for a gift for a young adult niece who is really into hiking. She doesn’t do back country stuff but it still seems like not a bad idea. Any recs? |

| I’m considering a Garmin InReach but that might be overkill. All my Garmin stuff has incident detection, but I think it requires access to a cell tower and tether to a phone with the connect app. None of what I have done recently has been way off grid, but I’m considering that. |
