Kennedy Center membership

For most limited run shows, do you generally need to get access in the members-only presale to get tickets for 4? Wasn't sure how much they sell out for a typical, non-Hamilton in its hey day show.

Not recently, no. They had a lot of empty seats even at Dear Evan Hansen.

But that was the second time in 3-4 years that Dear Evan Hansen was here. I think it was harder to get the first time around.

OP, some shows can be tough (I'm thinking Book of Mormon, Hamilton, probably Dear Evan Hansen the first time around), but those are the exception not the rule. The John Williams 90th birthday gala mostly sold out during the members-only period.

I'm not a member and had no trouble getting Dear Evan Hansen tickets the first time around, or Book of Mormon back ~5 years ago or so.
