Hanging out with a gay friend coworker

If you want to never hang out with him again go for it. I’d reserve those type of jokes for friends you’ve known a couple years and hang out with regularly, and even then it depends on your and their sense of humor. People know if you’re trying too hard to impress them or draw attention to your perceived flaws in them. First night out probably not a good idea.

Do you make those jokes with your straight friends when you hang out? Do you assume everyone who’s attracted to your gender is trying to get into your pants? Being gay doesn’t mean being attracted to everyone of your own gender. It means the people you are attracted to are of your own gender. Just like being straight doesn’t mean you’ll sleep with anyone who identifies as a different gender than you.
