How Long Do Left-Overs Keep in the Fridge?

Anonymous
I am not a left-over type person so I am not sure how long I can keep things. We usually only make enough for one meal then lunch the next day. With baby eating our left-overs now how long can I keep portions in the fridge (not frozen) for the baby to eat? For instance, if I buy turkey meatballs and there are 8 of them and he eats 2 a day, will they keep for up to 6 days? If I cook a sweet potato will it stay for 2 or 3 days? I feel stupid asking but I have no idea.

I go with 4 days.

I am no expert.

Smell, touch and taste - also, the packages of prepared stuff usually tell you what the shelf life after prepared. Potatoes and sweet potatoes last about 4 days. Taste it first.

Generally no more that a week, less if it is starting to look or smell sketchy. Although DH will sometimes eat stuff older, but he has an iron stomach.

3-4 days.

I usually go with a week but smell everything before I serve it.

I would not keep leftover fish or seafood for more than a day (if that), but that's probably obvious.

A week?

For meat, I would only do 2-3 days, tops.
Vegetables maybe 4 days, but it probably won't taste as good.
You can always freeze stuff, too.
