APS calendar options are here

I am going to lose my ever loving mind if we start a week earlier and STILL get out mid June. I don’t mind starting earlier, but keeping the same end date is ridiculous.

Ugh. Why is spring break so late again? Either make it early March or add a Feb holiday.

What...Elearly start or short winter break???

Can't APS find a few days so we can have the later start and the full break?

From the wording I can almost guarantee they will select option 1, my least favorite choice as a staff member and parent. I wouldn't mind a shortened winter break if we got out before mid-June.

I really, truly don't understand how we keep starting earlier but ending at the same time. The first year it at least made logical sense, a bunch of new holidays were added in. How does option 1 start an entire week earlier than this year (where we've already added in all the holidays) yet still get out at the same time?

Also 2 weeks for winter break is just too long, unless you have oodles of money and are going somewhere.

They have added 3-4 school days to the calendar

I'm PP staff member. I'd be fine with a shorter winter break and option 1 if I didn't have to go back to work August 10th. I definitely won't work summer school if that's the case

Seriously? Winter break runs into early January. You need a week off less than two months later but are fine with no meaningful time off for the last three months of the school year?

Are they keeping the extra minutes each day?

So a spring break (6 school days) is followed by a choppy three day week? Ugh. Just stupid.

Jan 1st = early January?

I think a break in late Feb *and* mid/late April would be ideal. Feb break could be 5 day weekend.

With only one break, spring break is too late. Again.

APS kids have had a total of two full weeks of school this year (with no holidays). They have a total of six this entire half year before winter break.

This new policy of adopting all the religious holidays is so frustrating and makes it really hard to get into a rhythm, for both the kids in school and their families.

Just venting. I assume there's no doing away with the new policy of a day off for every.single.religious.holiday.

(And yes, I would like to get rid of winter holidays around Christmas and spring break around Easter, too!)
