14 DPO, Faint line on HPT

Anonymous
Hi!
I got a faint line on 2 HPTs this morning. I am 14 DPO but have not missed my period yet, which should come anywhere between the 4th and 6th. Should I call the doctor to get a blood test or test for the next few days and see if I continue to get positive results? I realize that testing at home this early can be indecisive so I am trying not to get my hopes up too high. I wonderd if a blood test would be more accurate?

Congratulations! I've been in same boat. I'd recommend purchasing a home pregnancy test that says "pregnant" or "not pregnant" - and it'll make you feel more confident.

You can call your doctor, but most doctors don't do blood tests anymore. They make you wait until 7 weeks to come in and they can do a sonogram to date the pregnancy.

call you doctor. I went in the day before my period was due for bloodwork based on a faint line. Mine still checks my beta and my progesterone to make sure the numbers look good. I am on prog supplements because of that blood work.

Congratulations. Rarely is there a line when you are not pregnant!

p.s. a blood test will find ANY beta. The HPTs won't register below a certain amount, and it depends on the brand.

I would call the doctor. My doctor (at Foxhall) had me come in a week after I had a positive HPT and she did a blood test. (I got the HPT 4 days before my missed period.) Then I came back in at eight weeks for a transvaginal U/S.

Congratulations!!! A faint line means you're pregnant! Call your doctor and get the blood test to confirm.

Thanks, everyone! I go to Foxhall also, so if they did a bloodtest for one of you, I'd assume they'll do the same for me. I'll call them today. Hopefully everything will come back okay.

I appreciate the support.....good luck to everyone!!!!!!!!!!!
