| I like to chop all my vegetables and store in them in the refrigerator for the week because it makes preparing dinner so much easier. The only problem child are the onions. I put them in a zip lock bag and then wrap it in 3 plastic grocery store bags. As you can imagine the smell still manages to find its way out. I’m curious if anyone has been able to find a solution. I could use a glass jar or a glass Tupperware type container, but I’d rather try something smaller and less rigid like a really thick plastic or silicone bag. Any ideas? |
| What’s wrong with using glass Pyrex? |
| Glass click lock is the only thing that works for me. Or freezer. |
| Glass Pyrex |
Meant to post the single: https://www.crateandbarrel.com/mini-ribbed-bowl-with-lid/s417699 It’s glass, keep Salir en, and you can’t get much smaller than that. |
| Okay it’s looking like glass is the way to go. I wasn’t opposed to it, just hoping to save some space in a normally crowded fridge. - OP |
| Mason jar! |
Oooh, I like this idea - thanks PP! |
| How long do they stay fresh in the fridge? Is it worth it to chop and freeze onions? I was recently gifted with a huge bag. |
| I use a mason jar. The lid can get retain odor on occasion, but not always — depends on the onions I guess. |

Freezing chopped onions is great |

I use the Rubbermaid brilliance for this and they are great. They completely seal so no odor. Prior I used mason jars which also work but these are easier to access when cooking.
