Any experience with this school in MA?

My DC1 is a Clark grad and had a great experience there. So much so that my DC2 strongly considered going there as well, which would have been fine with DH and me. (Ultimately DC2 ended up elsewhere).

Not the OP but tell me more! My DS (jr) is interested in Clark although we haven’t visited yet and he may not like Worcester (gritty cities are not his thing). He could get in a more highly ranked school but he’s very interested in the Geography program at Clark which sounds like a stand out.

Nice school, top geography program; psychology has always been good. Good integration with the neighborhood, plenty safe.

Worcester is the second largest city in New England with plenty of stuff to do locally — diners, bars, restaurants — with the opportunity for a monthly jaunt into Boston (an hour by train; less by bus). One cool thing about Worcester is you are in the country and the hills within 20 minutes to go get pumpkins in the fall or see foliage (it is not exurban outside the city limits; they are mostly nice small towns). Within Worcester’s city limits, there are wide swathes of nice neighborhoods — around half the city area. In other words, if he doesn’t like the grit, DC and friends can drive 5 -10 minutes and be out of it. And, by DC standards, I wouldn’t even call it grit…

My older son looked at Clark. He really liked the idea of a small, urban (even if not a huge city) university. The grittiness of Worcester didn't bother him a bit and he found the students to be really friendly. He applied EA, was admitted and offered excellent merit aid (and could have applied for more) but he got into his ED school. I think he would have strongly considered accepting the offer if he hadn't gotten into his ED school. We will take our younger son to look at it because it also fits his interests.
