Favorite special occasion restaurant near the Hill?

I’ll be celebrating a milestone birthday and want to go somewhere special. I rarely eat out and when I do often go to a kid-friendly place.

Looking to go out without the kids but don’t want to go too far from Capitol Hill. What’s your favorite restaurant? Happy to spend money if it’s special.

Pineapple and pearls is definitely fancy. But honestly I enjoyed my meal at Sonoma more than at Rose's luxury and it's a lot cheaper. If you want h street, I liked cane a lot.

If you are willing to go to the union market area you could try Masseria. Or some good choices by navy yard.

Little Pearl has an amazing prix-fixe meal. Add wine pairings to make it really special.
