I was told by a fellow APS mom that while the school district is very good to also supplement early and often.
We have done so and seen DS’s reading and math improve through a combo of APS curriculum and private tutoring. How many APS families also supplement? Or are you relying solely on APS curriculum and homework? |
Meant APS families in the topic line |
We’ve informally supplemented at home from the start. |
We “supplement” at home if a kid is struggling with something, asks for harder math, or is just interested in any topic not coveted in depth at school (read books about it, do projects, etc). Then of course, visiting museums, historic sites, etc, but that’s just part of parenting/life (yet still educational). |
