Recycling at Staples

Anonymous
Does anyone know if I can bring in old documents to be shredded at Staples FOR FREE?

Currently, Staples reward member can get $5 by bringing in old computer cables, keyboard, etc., and I am using that great service. And I saw it says "shredding" as a part of recycle drive. Wondering if I can get $5 reward by shredding documents per a month.

TIA!

I doubt it. I believe paper shredding is a service they charge for. I would call your local Staples and ask.

There is a local company in Rockville that does this service for free for anyone who drives up and throws their stuff in a secure bin.

Fairfax Co has free document shredding throughout the year via their Public Works.

Not sure where you live, but you could check your local county if you're not part of Fairfax.
